Meet us @ Medical Technology Ireland Expo & Conference

27-28th September 2017

A high-profile National and International event attracting global suppliers to the crème of the Irish Medical Device Industry. The event is a stone's throw away from the world Medical Device Global leaders, including Medtronic, Merit Medical, Creganna Medical, Zimmer Biomet and Boston Scientific. Besides the biggest names, there are almost 300 medical technology companies based in Ireland, employing a highly skilled workforce in excess of 27,000 in the industry, creating this attractive centre of production excellence and network of suppliers.

Female High Fliers

Female High Fliers is an accelerator programme for Ireland’s best early stage start-ups, specifically addressing the challenges facing female entrepreneurs. Big Ideas

Big ideas is an Enterprise Ireland led event that empowers the front runners in Irish research, to take centre stage and pitch their technology solutions and business propositions to an audience comprised of the Irish research and investment communities. The aim is to highlight the successful collaborations that exist between higher education institutes here in Ireland, investors and state support. The panel also discuss the stages of establishing a business, which are concept development, business feasibility, financing and finally commercialisation.

HPRA Innovation Day

The Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) Innovation Day followed on from the launch of the HPRA’s Innovation Office which provides regulatory support and guidance to individuals, academics, small and medium enterprises, companies, and other groups who are developing innovative health products or technologies. This event included an overview of the recently established innovation office, the role of the HPRA in the regulation of health products and case studies and information on the road maps for specific types of products and activities within the HPRA’s remit.

Future Health Summit

The theme of this year's conference was "The Future of Healthcare, the Drive for More Personalised Care in the Digital Age.” This conference was made up of 15 Conferences, 3,000 delegates, 160 Speakers, 15 Patient workshops, 140 Exhibitors and 50 Start-ups. Attendees included Acute Services, Health Executives, Hospital Operators, ehealth, Clinical & Nursing Leadership, Payers, Providers and Clinical Research Innovation.

Research to Industry (R2i) Workshop

DCU Business Matchmaker and Research Showcase

This event provides the opportunity for companies and venture capitalists to meet face-to-face with experts at Dublin City University who are actively engaged in the commercialisation of research. This event included pre-scheduled one to one meetings which took place between individual DCU researchers/ business development managers, venture capitalists and industry representatives who are interested in funding university based spin-outs or extending their R&D capability by working with universities.

InterTradeIreland Venture Capital Conference
